Regular scrap tyre collection helps dealers manage yard space and plan disposal alongside incoming stock. Our team can discuss collection and casing assessment for your business.
We collect scrap tyres nationwide, and GB Tyres hold waste carrier registration CBDU210568.
The take-back offer
For every GB Tyres house-brand tyre you order — Aerotyre or Challenger — we take back a scrap tyre of the same or similar size when we deliver.
The logic is straightforward. Ninety per cent of our deliveries go out on our own fleet, and that vehicle would otherwise go back empty. The scrap moves on a journey that is already being made, which is why we can do it as part of the order rather than as a separate charge.
Combining collection with delivery helps manage scrap tyre volumes and brings the take-back arrangement into your replacement tyre planning.
Responsible waste handling
Businesses producing waste tyres have a duty of care to ensure the waste is handled responsibly through to its final destination.
Use a registered carrier, check the registration with the relevant UK regulator and keep an accurate written transfer note for every load.
Choose a collection service that can explain its disposal route and provide the appropriate documentation.
Recovering value from suitable casings
Part of the scrap pile in most yards is not scrap. A truck casing pulled at the right depth, never run flat and with no sidewall damage can be retreaded and go back to work, reusing the heaviest and most material-intensive part of the tyre.
We operate a casing credit scheme for retreadable casings, so that value comes back to the dealer instead of being thrown away. Rates are set case by case against the casing, so ask the desk before you scrap a batch rather than assuming a figure. How to judge one is set out in the guide to retread or replace.
Booking a collection
Collection is set up per account. Tell the desk the tyres you need collected — how many, what sizes, and whether there are casings worth separating out — and it can be planned against your deliveries. Call +44 (0)121 520 5215 or email sales@gbtyres.net. What happens to the material after collection is set out on sustainability.
Order house brand, send scrap back
The take-back offer runs on every Aerotyre and Challenger order. Casing credit and nationwide collection are set up per account.
