Firestone was founded in Akron, Ohio in 1900 by Harvey Firestone. The brand has a long history in agricultural tyres alongside its commercial vehicle ranges.

Bridgestone acquired Firestone in 1988. In Europe the two names divide the market between them — Bridgestone carries the premium truck and OTR business, and Firestone is the group’s agricultural brand. If you are quoting a farm tyre from the Bridgestone group in the UK, you are quoting a Firestone. Production sits within Bridgestone’s European manufacturing network.

Firestone also runs a truck range in Europe, positioned as a second line to Bridgestone rather than as a budget import.
